EWOT
Summary: Exercise With Oxygen Therapy, shortened to EWOT is simply astounding;
there is no other term to describe this wonderful and simple therapy.Sometimes
referred to as "Multistep Oxygen Therapy" and also Exercise With
Oxygen Training, EWOT is simple to perform, requires very little time, and
requires relatively
inexpensive equipment. This is no wishful thinking on the part of an eager
oxygen enthusiast, or the crazy rantings of conspiracy theorists - oxygen
can truly change your life, prolong your life, and prevent the onset of so
called "age related" diseases.
Several
articles have been posted here to introduce you to the world of EWOT. We
will be gathering more articles, written by educated and well informed researchers
who can convey the facts to you in terms that we all can understand.
- Dramatically increase oxygenation of the tissues and cells
- Recover from stress related illnesses
- Prevent age related diseases such as cancer, macular degeneration, cataracts,

EWOT – Exercise
With Oxygen Therapy (Training)©

The basic principles of EWOT have been discovered and studied by German physicians*.
This information has been known and practiced in Germany since the early 1950's.
The practice of breathing high flow rate of 'oxygen enriched air' (90% and
above) while exercising has been shown by the Germans to provide dramatic health
benefits. The effects are documented to cause not only an increase the oxygen
carrying capability of the red blood cells, but also the blood plasma, the
fluid portion of the blood.
The blood plasma is not normally recognized for its oxygen carrying capabilities.
This job is normally thought to be the sole responsibility of the red blood
cells. However there are some cells in our body that rely on the oxygen that
is suspended in this blood plasma for normal functioning. Due to a lack of
proper breathing practices in 'Western' nations, lack of exercise, and other
related factors the levels of oxygen in the blood plasma of most people is
below normal. The cells surrounding the small capillaries (very small blood
vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs) which normally
rely on this supply of oxygen therefore become oxygen starved. One of the effects
of this oxygen starvation is a malfunction of the processes that allow these
cells to regulate their fluid balance. In short, the cells begin to absorb
fluid. This excess of fluid causes them to swell, which in turn causes the
internal diameter of the capillaries to become smaller. This smaller diameter
results in less blood being delivered to the tissues and organs (much like
squeezing a garden hose affects the amount of water coming out the end), which
in turn results in less oxygen and nutrients being delivered to the tissues,
organs, and other cells. The final result: age related wounds on the extremities,
as well as neuropathies and other general health related issues.
The German research has indicated that breathing oxygen while exercising will
not only increase the amount of oxygen carried by the red blood cells, but
will also increase the oxygen carried by the blood plasma. The increase re-establishes
oxygen delivery to the cells that surround the small capillaries, allows them
to lose their excess fluid, which causes them to return to their normal size.
The reduction in the swelling of these cells causes the interior diameter of
the blood vessels to return to normal, re-establishing the normal oxygen and
nutrient supply to tissues and organs.
What does this mean to someone who uses EWOT? What could it do for you? This
is a direct quote from the German Researchers who showed that Exercise With
Oxygen Therapy is “effective for various indications: renormalization
of the O2 loading of the blood in the lung functionally degenerated by old
age or severe stress; early stage of cataract, glaucoma, loss of field of vision,
impaired focus; angina pectoris, arrhythmias, prophylaxis and rehabilitation
for heart disease; edema; peripheral circulation disorders, especially in the
lower extremities; circulation disorders, dizziness of old age, senile diabetes;
hypertension; general acceleration of any rehabilitation program; lasting increase
in physical performance capacity; defense stimulation (immune system stimulation),
especially after classical cancer treatments that use radiation and chemotherapy.”
In order to obtain these benefits the German research was very specific regarding
the conditions under which the EWOT should be performed, that is, high flow
oxygen of 8 – 10 Liters per minute is required, at a purity of 90 – 95%.
In the past the source of that oxygen had to be from an oxygen tank (with the
appropriate high flow oxygen regulator) as oxygen concentrators were not able
to provide the high flow rates required. Unfortunately the use of an oxygen
tank requires repeated filling of the tank which is very inconvenient and can
become quite expensive. If you consider a person performing EWOT for 15 minutes
using 10 Liters per minute, it is a very easy calculation to discover that
just one EWOT session consumes 150 Liters of oxygen! If one has a 650 liter
tank, this tank would hold sufficient oxygen for only 4 sessions after which
it would need to be refilled.
Dramatic progress has been made since the original research was performed,
and now high flow (up to 10 Liters per minute) oxygen concentrators producing
the high purity oxygen that is required for EWOT (90 – 95%) are not only
available, but are also quite affordable for businesses and even for the home
user. These oxygen concentrators can be large (up to 60 lbs) however most are
available on high quality wheels for easy movement over a flat floor surface.
Those of you who wish to obtain the benefits of EWOT should not be tempted
to purchase the smaller, lower flow, lower purity oxygen concentrators that
are now available from China and some North American and European resellers.
These small oxygen concentrators typically produce only 2 to 3 Liters per minute,
at a purity level of only 30 – 50%. Although the small size of these
oxygen concentrators can be attractive, the original German research has indicated
that the benefits of EWOT can only be obtained with the 8 – 10 Liters
per minute of 90 – 95% oxygen documented in their studies. Therefore
using the oxygen from an oxygen concentrator that is incapable of operating
at these specified flows and purity, can only result in disappointing results
rather than providing the dramatic health benefits discovered during the research.
EWOT is extremely simple, inexpensive, can be done in any location, and is
a well researched technique that can be used to prevent or to address health
problems and disorders caused by poor oxygen delivery. Due to advances in technology
the high flow high purity oxygen equipment required for EWOT is easily accessible
to all. Now that you are aware this information….how can you resist?

The Real Cause of Cancer — And
the Only Way to Stop It
By Dr. Robert Rowan, MD
Did you know that if you contract stage-4 cancer, conventional medicine has
absolutely nothing that can cure you? Some time ago, the Congressional Record
stated that no one has ever been cured at this late stage with chemo, radiation,
surgery, or any combination of these.
What’s worse, though, is that the government knows this is true and
still gives orthodox medicine a government-granted monopoly on cancer treatment.
Fortunately, there are mavericks that risk their livelihood to offer treatments
that can beat cancer at any stage. While some of them end up in prison
or in poverty, there are others who fly below the government’s radar and
make a huge difference in the way we fight cancer.
One such man was Otto Warburg, one of my greatest medical heroes. What
he discovered about cancer more than half a century ago won him the
Nobel Prize. But more
importantly, it may spare your life.
Dr. Warburg was a brilliant German scientist who found the common denominator
of all cancers. It’s a very simple thread that connects every cancer — and
exposes cancer’s weakness. His meticulous research won him the Nobel
Prize in 1931. And subsequent groundbreaking work earned him a second Nobel
Prize offer in 1944. Unfortunately, the Nazis wouldn’t let him receive
it.
Warburg studied cancer in real time. That means he studied cells
as they transformed from normal to cancer as it was happening. His
incredible
paper was called “The
Metabolism of Carcinoma Cells.” It was published in America in the
Journal of Cancer Research in 1925.
The connection he discovered was a common metabolic link in all cancers.
And it was not pesticides, preservatives, radiation, chemicals,
poisons, or any
other carcinogen. Wait a minute! Weren’t we taught to believe that carcinogens
damage DNA and cause cancer by genetic injury? It’s true all of these
are factors. But they all lead to only one simple bottom line — they
all prevent your cells from getting or using oxygen.
Warburg’s story is all about oxygen. You know that I, too, love to use
oxygen to treat disease. It’s the stuff of life. Consume more oxygen
and live longer. Consume less and your life will be shortened with more chronic
degeneration. Just what kind of degeneration? Not just circulatory diseases
and infections, but cancer!
Most doctors think that less oxygen simply means a heart attack
or stroke. But Warburg proved it also can mean cancer. Here’s why: You know that
your cells need to make energy. They do that by burning sugars and fats with
oxygen. It’s sort of like the combustion engine, which burns gasoline
and oxygen in your car’s engine. Deprive your car’s engine of
gasoline or oxygen, and it will stop running. Warburg found that malignant
tumors always
have a degree of oxygen deprivation.
He also found that cancerous tumors produced far more lactic
acid than benign tumors. Lactic acid is what cells produce
when they
burn sugar
without enough
oxygen. It’s also what yeast produces when it ferments. Warburg argued
that, malignant cancer cells are essentially cells that are fermenting. As
the degree of fermentation increases, so does the degree of malignancy.
So the next question is, “Why don’t you get cancer in your brain
or heart when a clot forms cutting off the blood supply?” That kind of
oxygen deficit will cause instant cell death — a heart attack or stroke.
Warburg found in order for cancer to develop, damaged cells
must survive long enough for fermentation to start. Total
oxygen deprivation
definitely
means
cell death and no subsequent degeneration to cancer.
So there’s a mysterious
delay between a partial insult and the development of cancer. The length
of this delay is different in different animals. In man, it can take several
decades.
Or it can happen much quicker.
Warburg emphasized that you can’t make a cell ferment unless a LACK OF
OXYGEN is involved. In 1955, two American scientists, R.A. Malmgren and C.C.
Flanigan, confirmed Warburg’s findings. They found that oxygen deficiency
is ALWAYS present when cancer develops.
Now here’s the real kicker. Warburg found that you can reverse fermentation
simply by adding oxygen – but only if you do it early enough. He incubated
cells in nitrogen, starving them of oxygen for regular but short periods. Starving
the cells of oxygen caused them to begin fermentation. Restoring oxygen promptly
enabled the cells to recover. But the longer they were oxygen starved, the
slower and less certain the recovery. With enough oxygen starvation, cells
don’t recover. Once they reach a certain point, no amount of oxygen
will return them to normal.
So all of this begs the question, “Why do cells lose oxygen in the first
place?” I mentioned earlier that poisons, preservatives, radiation, or
other carcinogens all affect a cell’s ability to use oxygen. But there’s
something far more common that has the same impact — glucose.
Warburg said that glucose brings a cell’s ability to use oxygen to a
standstill. So if you flood your cells with glucose, your cells won’t
get the oxygen they need to function correctly. That will begin fermentation,
which leads to cancer. This is why I repeatedly call for you to avoid all refined
foods. That’s the best way to stop the flood of glucose into your cells.
Now you know the underlying cause of cancer.
The next question to consider is what we can
do to
enhance oxygen
delivery.
Well, one
method is exercise
with oxygen therapy (EWOT or multi-step therapy),
which I’ve told you
about in the past.
But what about your diet? Warburg did a lot
of work on vitamins, minerals, and other
nutrients. He found
that
they help cells
use oxygen more
efficiently. Today, we know that vitamins
and minerals are absolute requirements for
your enzymes to work. When you’re deficient in nutrients, it impairs your
cell’s ability to use oxygen and produce energy. I prefer you get most
of your nutrients from your food. But supplements will also help.

Multistep Oxygen Therapy - The
Best Antiaging Gift you can Give Your Body
By Dr. Robert Rowan, MD
In the never-ending fight against the
aging process, we have finally found a therapy that now gives us the edge.
It can dramatically reduce the effects of the aging process from your body,
it costs very little, and it can be done in the comfort of your own home.
The therapy is called EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy) or multi-step
therapy. You’ve read about it in the past, but that’s just the beginning
of what will be one of the biggest breakthroughs ever in anti-aging medicine
in decades, and yet it’s still virtually ignored by the medical establishment.
Why? Probably because it doesn’t cost much, so the doctors and drug companies
aren’t going to get rich using it. But I suspect most are simply in the dark about the incredible benefits you can receive using
this therapy. I know I was for many years.
As an avid user of oxidation and oxygen therapies, I was fortunate to attend
a lecture on oxygen multi-step therapy at the International Oxidative
Medicine Association’s convention years ago. However, it was presented in poor
English without a clear understanding among the attendees of the mechanisms
of action. Like most physicians, I need to know how something works to better
apply it to patient care. Just hearing results without understanding is not
satisfactory.
Now, with the aid of recent writings by Dr. Manfred von Ardenne, how
this procedure produces its stunning effects becomes not only crystal
clear,
but also amazingly
simple.
Before I explain the therapy, though, we need to understand how oxygen
gets from your lungs to your tissues. This gets a little technical,
but it will
help you understand why multi-step therapy is so crucial to effectively
fight the aging process.
Atmospheric air pressure at sea level is 760 mm of mercury. Since
oxygen comprises approximately 20 percent of the atmosphere, the
pressure
component of oxygen,
called partial pressure, is 20 percent of 760, or about 150 mm.
The air coming into the lungs, therefore, contains a pressure of O2
at
150 mm.
However,
in the lungs, the oxygen is diluted considerably with carbon dioxide
leaving the
body. Thus, in the air sacs of the lungs (alveoli), the pressure of oxygen is the 150 mm minus the
partial pressure of CO2 (which is 40) for a net O2 pressure in
the air sacs
of about 100-110
mm. With me so far?
This 100-110 mm is the amount of pressure that drives the oxygen
from the lungs into the blood. The blood takes the oxygen by
way of the
arteries to the extremities
where it is fed to the capillaries. The capillaries release
some of the oxygen to support each individual cell along their pathway.
In
an ideal
situation,
the pressure of oxygen in the arteries will almost match the
pressure in
the alveoli. When we’re young, this is the case,
with the arterial pressure running around 95 mm. However, as
we age, the arterial pressure declines, with the average 70-year-old
having
an arterial
pressure
of only about 70 mm.
The reason this is significant is because when the blood carries
the oxygen to the capillaries, the oxygen must dissolve in
the waters of
the body
in order to reach the O2-thirsty cells beyond the capillary
membrane. Unlike carbon
dioxide, O2 is much harder
to dissolve in liquids and its solubility is heavily dependent
on the pressure driving it. Oxygen is extracted in the capillaries
and
when
the blood comes
out the venous end of the capillary, the average pressure
of oxygen in the veins is about 40 mm early in life and drops
to about 35
mm by age
70. The
difference in the pressure of oxygen between the arterial
and
venous sides reflects how well the oxygen is delivered and
consumed.
In your 30s, the amount of oxygen released to the cells is
significantly higher than in your 70s. If you do the math,
a 30-year-old will
release 55 mm of pressure
(95-40=55), while a 70-year-old will release only 35 mm
of pressure (70-35=35). That’s a huge drop (55 vs. 35) in the amount
of pressure of oxygen your cells are receiving.
This is extremely important, as the most common complaint
I’ve
heard about multi-step therapy is from patients who have their
blood tested by a
conventional doctor who measures the amount of oxygen in the
blood. When it comes back normal, people think
they don’t need the therapy. What the doctor is missing
is how well the oxygen is transferred to the cells.
When the oxygen pressure falls as you age, the volume
of oxygen may stay the same, but you may be oxygen
deficient because
there’s not enough pressure
to push the volume to a usable state. When your doctor tells you there’s
plenty of oxygen in
your blood, he’s correct. The blood is saturated with oxygen. Problem
is, there’s not enough oxygen in your cells! You see, the body’s
ability to transfer oxygen to the cells becomes damaged as we
age.
This transfer of oxygen from the blood to the cells
is perhaps the most significant underlying factor
in whether
you live
a healthy life or not!
The more damaged
the transfer mechanism becomes, the more likely you
will become ill.
This is why you
are more susceptible to illness as you age! (There
is much more to this aspect of the therapy, but I’ve given you enough
science for one day.)
The breakthrough with multi-step therapy is that
it actually raises the arterial pressure back to
youthful
levels.
And what’s
just as important is the effect is long lasting!
Furthermore, the technique lowers the oxygen in
your veins at the same time, which indicates
a dramatic
increase in
the release
and
consumption
of oxygen
as a result of treatment. The larger the difference
between the pressure of oxygen in the
arteries and veins simply indicates greater oxygen
release and consumption by the cells.
Multi-step therapy is surprisingly simple. All
it involves is breathing high levels of oxygen
while
exercising.
The higher oxygen level
in the lungs creates
a greater head of
pressure to drive oxygen into the pulmonary
capillaries. The exercise moves the circulation
much faster,
ensuring a greater
oxygen carriage.
Initially,
the oxygen pressure in the veins rises, as
more oxygen is getting through to the venous
side,
but
it is this oxygen that allows the capillaries
to repair the transfer mechanism. Once the
mechanism is fixed,
more oxygen
can diffuse
through the capillary
wall to oxygen-thirsty tissues.
Typically, the multi-step therapy consists
of an 18-day, 36-hour program. First, a drug-nutrient
combination is orally administered
30 minutes
before the exercise
starts. The
combination consists of 30 mg of thiamin (vitamin
B1), 75 mg of Dipyridamol (the prescription
drug Persantine),
and
100
mg of magnesium
orotate.
These agents help the uptake and utilization
of oxygen.
Thirty minutes after taking the combination,
you begin exercising while breathing oxygen
using a
mask and
storage balloon at
a flow rate of
four to six liters
per minute. This
lasts two hours each day for 18 days, giving
you a total of 36 hours of therapy time.
Every 20 minutes
during
the two-hour
treatment
period,
the
individual
pushes the exercise to a comfortable maximum,
which enhances cardiac output and oxygen
delivery to the needy areas. This procedure
is probably best supervised by a doctor,
though this is not entirely
necessary.
A simpler modification, called the quick
technique, uses the same procedure (including
the drug-nutrient
combination),
but
instead
of two hours,
you do moderate aerobic exercise for only
15 minutes while breathing pure oxygen
at
10 liters per minute.
Some combination of the two techniques
might be the most effective method.
The effects of this treatment are far
reaching for virtually every conceivable
human condition.
Not
that this is a
cure for anything,
but by improving
delivery of the most important substance
for tissue life and repair, the body
will have a much
better opportunity to correct any problem.
Emphysema, for example, can definitely
be assisted, but
ongoing sessions
are necessary
since the
transfer mechanism
is severely
compromised by loss of tissue due to
the emphysema. All circulatory disturbances
can benefit, including
high
blood pressure.
The development of cancer
also may be inhibited. Otto Warburg
won the Nobel Prize years ago for demonstrating
that cancer functions in an oxygen-poor
environment.
There are also reports of excellent
results in eye problems, including
cataracts
(this is understandable,
since the
lens of the eye is
known to be oxygen-deficient
already). Other illnesses that benefit
from multi-step therapy include:
senility, arthroses
(joint disturbances),
liver
and internal organ
disturbances, infections,
radiation exposure, late effects
of strokes, poisonings and burns, and
stress.
Oxygen multi-step therapy is definitely
something you can do in the privacy
of your home and
very inexpensively. And it
may be
the most
dramatic
single thing you can do to prevent
disease and restore health. Now you
have the
tools to turn back the aging
clock in your circulation to youthful
parameters in just a few weeks.
To get medical-grade oxygen, you’ll need a prescription, so I suggest
you find a doctor who is a member of the International Oxidative Medicine Association
(IOMA). These doctors are aware of this therapy and know the value of increasing
your body’s use
of oxygen as you age. They can give
you a prescription for the oxygen
tanks.
If you’re interested in doing the 18-day program, you can
use an
oxygen concentrator, which is available
from most medical supply
houses. Check with them to see if
your state requires a prescription.
Oxygen
concentrators are more expensive
up
front (well
over $1,000) than
oxygen tanks, but you’ll save money over the long haul
because
you don’t have to refill the tanks. Shop around (and don’t forget
to check the Internet) to find the best deal. The concentrators will not work
for the quick program, as they don’t
provide enough pressure. You need
a minimum of 10 liters per minute
with
100% oxygen
for the
therapy to be of
any use, and
the concentrators
usually
max
out at five liters per minute and
are typically a
little less than 100% oxygen.
Many people have asked me if they
can use the commercial-grade
oxygen found
at their
local
compressed-gas supply
house because it’s cheaper and they
can get it without a prescription. While I’ve known people
to use this successfully without any problems,
they purchase their oxygen from
supply houses that use the same
source (meaning
the supply
house uses
the same
compressor
and
filter) for
the commercial
and medical-grade oxygen. I’ve been assured by the suppliers
in my area that the oxygen is taken
from the same source, but not
all supply houses do so. When
the commercial
oxygen
is taken
from the
same source
as the
medical-grade,
there
is no difference between the
two. While this is a very safe
option,
as
a doctor,
I’m prohibited
by law from
prescribing it. Federal law also
prohibits me from using commercial-grade
oxygen
for any medical
purpose.
And
whoever you get your oxygen
from, make sure you
get and read all the safety precautions
associated with handling oxygen.
The thiamin and magnesium orotate
can be acquired from health
food stores.
The dipyramidole
(Persantine)
would
have to
be obtained through prescription,
but appears not to be an absolute
essential (ask your IOMA doctor
about it). Acquisition
of an
exercise machine (a treadmill
or exercise bike will work
just fine)
takes a little
effort
and money,
but you probably
should
have one
of these
anyway.
The quick technique is so easy
and time efficient and may
suffice for
those in
relatively good
shape who
want to
practice prevention.
For
those with
more significant problems,
the 18-day, 36-hour method
may be
best. For those
even more impaired, it would
be most advisable
to consult with a physician
familiar with oxygen
therapies.
A graded exercise
program perhaps
beginning with
nothing more than lifting
a few pounds can
be
easily devised together with
oxygen to begin the transforming
process.
As Paul Harvey would say, “and now you know the rrrrrrest of the story.” Oxygen
multi-step therapy is a monumental breakthrough that can benefit
nearly everyone and is easily administered in your own home.

Reverse Diabetic Retinopathy With Easy,
In-Home Treatment
By Dr. Robert Rowan, MD
You can reverse the two most feared complications
from diabetes, retinopathy and nephropathy, with a simple treatment you can
do in your own home.
Both of these conditions develop in diabetics because the disease causes the
capillary membranes to thicken. When these membranes thicken, it hinders oxygen
and nutrient delivery to the cells.
Unfortunately, conventional medicine has little to offer diabetics who develop
these conditions. Most of them receive laser surgery, with little success.
But a new study gives
evidence that diabetics, even those who have had laser surgery, can benefit
from one of my favorite therapies.
In a pilot study just published by Johns Hopkins Hospital, five patients between
the ages of 52 and 69 with diabetic retinopathy were selected. All had conventional
laser treatment previously and 9 of 10 eyes had persistent edema despite the
laser. (Lasers burn abnormal and leaking blood vessels caused by diabetes in
the retina.)
The patients were given supplemental oxygen (using an oxygen concentrator)
at four liters per minute by nasal tube. They were instructed to use the oxygen
continually for three months, except when taking showers.
At the end of the test period, extra thickness of the macula (your central
vision) was reduced by 54 percent! Additionally, three of the eyes had better
visual acuity, improving two lines on the reading chart. Most of the eyes gradually
worsened when the oxygen was withdrawn. However, four of the eyes maintained
stability, suggesting that supplemental oxygen has a stabilizing effect on
the laser surgery for retinopathy.
The principal investigators in the study believe the retina, when faced with
a decrease in oxygen, becomes leaky. This stimulates the growth of new (but
abnormal) blood vessels.
Since the new blood vessels are abnormal, they can leak or bleed. So their
presence is more dangerous to the eyes than simply needing the oxygen. The
leakage can cause the macula to become thickened, resulting in vision loss.
This affects up to 10 percent of all patients with diabetes.
Supplemental oxygen prevents the eye from producing these abnormal vessels.
This, in turn, reduces the amount of leaking in retinal vessels and prevents
the macula from thickening. The treatment could reduce the thickness of the
retina before laser treatment. Burdened by less edema, laser treatment may
become more effective, even when oxygen is withdrawn.
Obviously, your most important nutrient is oxygen! This is just more proof
of its value. Exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT), performed for decades in
Germany, is the granddaddy of oxygen therapies. Aging itself causes thickening
of the capillaries.
Supplemental oxygen was shown years ago to reduce edema accumulated in the
capillary lining cells. This work confirms its power, but it will be decades
before “modern” medicine figures it out.
If you have diabetic retinopathy, or nephropathy, oxygen therapy is a must.
In fact, if you have diabetes, you’re most likely to have problems at
some degree in many organs of the body. Don’t wait for complications.
Start EWOT today! And if you have diabetic complications, take this information
to your doctor and ask to be prescribed supplemental oxygen. For more information
on EWOT, please call 800-728-2288 and ask for my special report!
